There is a big, full, bright, amazing moon over London tonight, and I feel a bit romantic.
Its peaceful, pale presence lulls my thoughts and takes them away from all the complications of modern dating. I shut my mind to issues like guys who ghost you, who send you completely unsolicited dick pics, who turn out to be first polyamorous, then pansexual, because bisexual is so 2014… Continue reading WHAT IS LOVE?
To you, who have perfectly organised your day ahead, juggling so many things in order to find time to see him, to then receive a dry text by him two hours before your date: “I can’t make it tonite”, without any apology, or a suggestion to reschedule it;
To you, who despite having sworn to yourself you were done with those apps, find yourself opening one because it’s just too hot, because the summer is approaching and it would be great to find a special someone to enjoy those balmy evenings with; Continue reading TO YOU, I WANNA SAY…
Ladies, lift your hands if you haven’t thought of how romantic it would be to meet the man of your life on a train, or on a boat. Or, given the globetrotters we all are by now, on a plane. Last year I went on a dating trip called “The love train”, where 100 single men and 100 single women were put on the same train leaving from King’s Cross Station and headed to York, in the hope that some love stories might blossom during the journey. Well, if they did, they blossomed for others (just for a change), so I have kind of abandoned idealising the train. But airplanes, well, they still retain their charme. Continue reading PINA COLADA
Hello again! The sun is finally shining in London, uplifting our moods, probably improving our social life and damaging the working one at the same time, and, at least for me, is giving me renewed energies. I therefore would like to ride this energy wave and catch up with my blog, that I haven’t been able to write for the past few months as I’ve been busy with the flat hunt, some new jobs and other personal issues. Continue reading DOES IT MATTER WHERE YOU MEET MEN?
In the last two months I’ve had the chance to hang out with a few women almost 10 years younger than me, and inevitably when you have two or more women together the most discussed topics have (surprisingly!) been relationships, dating and love. I’ve realized that in talking with them I was feeling a bit… I don’t wanna say “wiser”, but of course, necessarily, more experienced. Continue reading WHAT I’VE LEARNT ABOUT LSD (Love Sex Dating, you druggie!)
I smile at him, and he looks a bit puzzled (not a great beginning). I haven’t really thought about what I am going to tell him. Normally, in those situations I just say whatever I have in my mind, which is generally A LOT, also because I have a problem with being transparent and open, and I end up explaining sometimes a long chain of thoughts. Continue reading WHAT IF IT’S HIM? (Part 2)
I never thought the day would have come when I would go against my idols as a teenager, but I’ve lately been thinking that the Take That completely made a blunder with their hit “Everything changes”.
To all appearances, it seems the boyband is initially reinforcing popwise what Heraclitus had said a few years before with his Pantha Rei. Everything flows, everything changes. Continue reading THE TAKE THAT HAD IT WRONG
At this time of the year, most of us are humming “And so this is Christmas, and what have you done…”, or nostalgically singing to “Last Christmas I gave you my heart but the very next day you gave it away (you bastard/bitch!)”. As for me, I’ve been having the song by Samantha Fox, “Touch me”, blasting in my mind, and no, a great ’80s night at the club Reflex in East London has nothing to do it with it. Continue reading TOUCH ME, TOUCH ME (I WANNA FEEL YOUR BODY, YOUR HEART BEAT NEXT TO MINE, TOUCH ME NOW!)
Those who know me, know that my favourite animal has always been the elephant (and not for the long trunk, as some of those who know me might immediately think ;-). Elephants are big and look strong, and yet they are so sensitive, playful, caring, one of the few animals that can cry and recognise himself in a mirror. Continue reading ONE MORE BLOW FROM ONLINE DATING
After a great night and a beautiful day spent with a girl, a guy would probably end it with a few beers and, if he feels active, would play some Playstation games with his mates.
After that same great night and a beautiful day spent with a guy, the girl goes home… AND CRIES.
Welcome to my world. Continue reading WHERE DID THAT COME FROM?
